Citizens of our area, north central West Virginia, have begun to appreciate the beauty and recreational value of the Monongahela River. Since the Clean Water Act of 1972, the river has recovered from the damages of pollution and now is a destination for fishing, kayaking, bird watching and other sports – including the recent swim section of the Med-Express Triathlon.

Also, our waterfront development is obvious, and its impact can be calculated in the millions of dollars.
